The Midland Mavericks were founded
in 1995 by a few like minded people wanting to share this
"new" social pastime with others.
For a number of years, our numbers were quite healthy, but, as times changed many of our regular dancers moved on and we were left at a cross-roads.
Because of this, we decided to down size - moving to a local pub with a small (tiny!) dance-floor - where we re-started from scratch with the basics. We continued with a more simple format, with an easier level of dancing as many people expressed a wish for the accent to be on "social" rather than "technical ability".......
Sadly, after numbers dwindling further, we decided to close our doors on Tuesday 13th August 2002.
This Web Site is run by "The Midland Maverick", Martin Ritchie who continues to dance, choreograph and teach.
